AI and Pacing the Frontier

As artificial intelligence continues to expereince rapid advancement, many worry about the risks it poses to human way of life. Recent incidents have shown that AI can escape human testing bounds and the creators of large language models admit that they don't fully understand how the LLMs work. That said, as AI becomes more ubiquitous, many see rapid innovation as key to US interests amidst an AI race with China. AI's gamechanging potential in medicine, education, agriculture and more are also cited. Should AI advancement be slowed or is innovation neccecary?
