This week, President Trump announced the warring nations would “”immediately”” begin ceasefire negotiations, following calls with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, Russia continues to demand demilitarization and territorial concessions before agreeing to peace.

Last week, Harvard University resoundingly rejected and condemned the Trump administration’s demands to dismantle its diversity programs, limit student protests, and submit to far-reaching federal audits in exchange for its federal funding. This move, a stark contrast to Columbia’s response last month, prompted the Trump administration to immediately freeze over $2.2 billion in grants to Harvard.

Stanford President Jon Levin and Provost Jenny Martinez have since released a statement in support of Harvard, characterizing its response as “rooted in the American tradition of liberty, a tradition essential to our country’s universities, and worth defending.”

The potential suspension of funding for the Bridge Peer Counseling Center has been controversial. Although some argue that the decision will harm student well-being, others contend that the move will bring substantial cost savings.
